The hartal that started from 6:00am was enforced demanding release of BNP acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and the district Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Abdur Rahim Sarker, reports our Gaibandha correspondent.
Pickets vandalised at least seven vehicles including a police van on Rangpur-Dinajpur highway in Palashbari around 10:00am.
No long-distance bus entered or left the district due to the hartal.
