Madrasa student shot dead by the gang

Five robbers were beaten to death by a mob when they shot dead a madrasa student after looting a house in Monoharganj upazila of Comilla early Wednesday.
At least 10 people were also injured including three by bullets during the incident, reports a correspondent from Comilla.
Md Zahirul Anwar, officer-in-charge of Monohargang Police Station, said a gang of at least 20 robbers stormed into the house of USA expatriate Abdul Malek at Bhaupur village around 3:00am and looted the house.
The gang stabbed four family members including Malek, who is now visiting his village home, when they tried to resist the bandits, the OC said.
Hearing screams of family members, neighbours came to know about the robbery committed at Malek's residence. They made an announcement over the loudspeaker of a local mosque seeking help from the villagers to capture the robbers.
When the villagers chased the gang to adjacent village Pachri, the robbers opened fire to flee the scene, leaving Arif, 16, dead on the spot, the police official said.
Later, the villagers caught five robbers at Batabaria and Keyari villages and beat them to death, he added.
On information, police recovered three bodies from Batabaria while two from Keyari village.
The injured were rushed to local hospitals in Laksam and Comilla city.
Deceased Arif, son of Ismail Hossain, was a class X student of local Shahpur Madrasa.
