Shutdown in Dhaka Mar 21 if Aman, Babu not released

The Dhaka district chapter of main opposition BNP threatened with enforcing a daylong shutdown in Dhaka district on March 21 if BNP leaders Amanullah Aman and Dewan Salauddin Babu are not released by March 20.

Abdul Mannan, president of BNP Dhaka district unit, made the announcement Wednesday morning at a press briefing at the party central office at Nayapaltan of the capital.
Police arrested BNP joint secretary general Aman during a raid at the office Monday evening.
Meanwhile, Salauddin surrendered before a Dhaka court on February 3 in connection with a case filed for torching a vehicle on Dhaka-Aricha highway during a road blockade on December 9 last year.
The party will hold demonstration in the capital and all the districts of Dhaka on March 14 demanding release of the two leaders, Mannan announced at the briefing.
The party will also form a human chain and hold a rally in front of Jatiya Press Club on March 16
