The accident took place on the Kendua-Atharobarhi road at the
Upazila’s Banshati at around 2pm, Nandail Police Station OC Khandaker Jahidul
Islam told bdnews24.com.
He said the human hauler carrying at least 25 passengers was heading to Netrokona’s Madanpur Bazar.
“Five passengers died on the spot when the vehicle collided with the bus at Bashati,” he said.
Three of the deceased have been identified as – ‘Pappu’, ‘Ambia’, 40, ‘Shahera’, 45, all from Kishoreganj’s Pakundia Upazila, while police are yet to identify two more women.
OC Islam said six of the injured were taken to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital and five more were admitted to Nandail Upazila Health Complex.
