A drug trader was killed in a ‘shootout’ between his cohorts and Rapid Action Battalion members in Savar bus stand area early Saturday.
Deceased Munna, 40, was wanted in 30 cases including drug peddling, murder and abduction, said Kawsar Matabbar, a sub-inspector of Savar Police Station.
Rab-4 sources said it received information that some drug peddlers, also local criminals, were on the way to Savar along with a large consignment of drugs.

A team of the elite force conducted a drive in Khosrubagh area around 12:25am, Rab sources said.
Sensing their presence, Munna and his associates opened fire on the law enforcers, who also retaliated by bullets triggering a half an hour-long ‘gunfight’.
Munna was caught in the line of fire and died on the spot, the sources said. The cohorts of Munna manage to flee the scene.
The elite force seized one foreign made pistol, several rounds of bullets and 300 bottles of Indian Phensidyl syrup from the scene.
The body was handed over to Savar Police Station
