“The government is using all the apparatuses it has to maintain law and order. If situation requires, it would involve other ones,” he said at a press conference at AL president’s political office in Dhanmondi the morning.
“We are not ruling out or ruling in anything,” Ashraf said when asked about government response regarding local administration’s request for army deployment in some parts of country.
The AL general secretary thinks the government has handled the situation with patience and skillfulness and brought the chaos under control.
The main opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its ally Jamaat-e-Islami would have to bear the responsibility of the killings and loss of properties during the countrywide violence, he said.
Terming the BNP as a “communal party”, Ashraful said Khaleda Zia called for a war through her recent press conference. The recent violence across the country is proof for it, he added.
He warned that the AL would not allow anyone to create a situation like 1/11 in the country.
