The Shahbagh youths on Tuesday submitted a memorandum to the home minister demanding immediate arrest of Amar Desh acting editor Mahmudur Rahman for instigating violence.
The demonstrators paraded city streets from Projonmo Chattar in Shahbagh to Matsya Bhaban where police intercepted the crowd.

Complying with police instruction, a five-member delegation, led by Imran H Sarkar, convener of Bloggers and Online Activists Network, later went to the home ministry to hand over the memo to MK Alamgir.
After receiving the memorandum, the home minister said the Amar Desh acting editor had tried to divert the spirit of Shahbagh movement by tweaking religious sentiment of Muslims.
He said the government was sincerely mulling over taking action against Mahmudur Rahman and his associates.
On Monday from a grand rally at Mirpur, the youths announced to stage a demonstration outside the home ministry Tuesday afternoon demanding Mahmudur's arrest.
The youths earlier issued two ultimatums to the government for the arrest of Mahmudur.
The youths have been demonstrating for the last 22 days at Shahbagh intersection, popularly known as Projonmo Chattar, calling for the maximum punishment to war criminals.
