Road crashes kill 4 in M'singh, Comilla

Four people including the son of a lawmaker were killed and eight injured in separate road accidents in Mymensingh and Comilla on Saturday.
Dr Mushfiqur Rahman Shuvo, 35, son of Matiur Rahman, the lawmaker of Mymensingh Sadar constituency, died in Mymensingh road crash while three others in Comilla.
Shuvo died on the spot when an unidentified vehicle hit his motorcycle at Bhoradoba in Bhaluka on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway around 5:45am, reports our Mymensingh correspondent quoting Motaleb Miah, officer-in-charge of Bhaluka Police Station.
He was going to Dhaka from Mymensingh, the OC said.
Shuvo, a medical officer of Kendua Upazila Health Complex in Netrakona, was social welfare secretary of Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA), Mymensingh unit, BMA sources said.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed deep shock at the death of Shuvo, BSS reports.

In Comilla, three people were killed and eight injured in a three-vehicle pileup on Dhaka-Chittagong Highway at Madhaia Kalagaon in Chandina upazila, UNB reports.
Highway police said the accident took place around 6:00am when a Comilla-bound truck from the capital collided head-on with a Dhaka-bound goods-laden truck and then both hit a pickup-van.
Two truck drivers and a helper died on the spot but their identities could not be known immediately.
The injured were rushed to Chandina Uapzila Health Complex and Sadar Hospital.
