HC directive sought to rescue Parag

Parag Mondol
A journalist on Tuesday sought High Court directives on the government to rescue Parag Mondol and produce him before the court within 24 hours.
Criminals on November 11 abducted the six-year-old schoolboy, shooting his mother, sister and the driver of their family car at Shuvadda Paschim Para in Keraniganj.
On Tuesday, Nazim Ahmed, editor of the weekly Shoptoporno, filed the petition saying that the law enforcers have failed to discharge their constitutional duties of giving security to Parag and his family members, and to recover him (Parag) in three days after he was abducted.
Secretary to the ministry of home affairs, inspector general of police, deputy commissioner of Dhaka, director general of Rapid Action Battalion, commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, and officer in charge of Keraniganj Police Station have been made respondents in the petition.
Receiving the petition, the HC bench of Justice AHM Shamsuddin Choudhury Manik and Justice Farid Ahmed yesterday fixed Wednesday for hearing the petition, petitioner’s counsel Eunus Ali Akond told The Daily Star.
