BCL 'collecting' fare in CU trains

Chittagong, Nov 14 Students seeking admission in Chittagong University have complained that ruling Awami League backed Bangladesh Chhatra League activists were collecting fares from them while travelling in the university's shuttle trains.
However, the university authorities made arrangements for the admission seekers to travel free of charge.
CU Proctor Siraj-Ud-Daula told bdnews24.com that he received complaints of one such incident on Tuesday. "Several students complained me about this over phone."
Sarwar Alam, an admission seeker came from Pabna, told bdnews24.com that he was returning to the city at 5:30pm on Tuesday and some 'elder brothers' were charging 'fares' from admission seekers in a bogey in which he was travelling.
"They claimed to be activists of Chhatra League, and took Tk 10 from each of us."
Another admission seeker alleged that they collected money from some 50 admission seekers from that bogey.
CU unit Chhatra League President Mamunul Hoque refuted such allegations and told bdnews24.com that no activists of his organisation were supposed to be involved with such incident. "However, if someone had done this using the name of Chhatra League, , actions will be taken against them."
