Action Battalion arrested five leaders of banned outfit Jama'atul
Mujahideen Bangladesh in the capital's Mirpur area early Sunday.
The arrestees might have link to the recent anarchy by Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami to make the country's law and order situation unstable and foil the war crimes trial, Commander M Sohail, Rab's Legal and Media Wing director, told The Daily Star.
The arrestees are: Majlish-e-Sura member of the JMB Shaik Rohomot Ullah alias Masum, 33; Ehsar (fulltime) members Md Shahinuzzaman Shahin alias Shafique, 27; Md Amit Hossain alias Ajmeri, 26; and Md Shariful Islam Shohag alias Milton alias Imran, 23; and Gayeri Ehsar (part-time)member Md Saidur, 40.
A team of Rab arrested the five JMB leaders in Mirpur Technical area, the Rab official said.
A press briefing will be arranged at Rab's Uttara headquarters in the afternoon to inform details about the arrest.
