of Jamaat leader Abdul Quader Mollah reached the final stage as
International Crimes Tribunal-2 on Monday started hearing arguments of
the prosecution and defence in a case filed against him for committing
crimes against humatiny in 1971 Liberation War.During today's hearing, prosecutor Mohammad Ali started placing his arguments before the three-judge panel headed by Justice Obaidul Hassan.
The two other members are: Justice Md Mojibur Rahman Miah and Judge M Shahinur Islam.
Later, the tribunal adjourned the hearing till Tuesday.
On May 28, the tribunal framed six charges against the leader for his involvement in murders and mass killings during the Liberation War in 1971.
According to the charges, Mollah "actively participated" in the killing of at least 381 unarmed people in Dhaka's Mirpur and Keraniganj areas in six different incidents. He also aided the Pakistan army to kill and rape civilians.
