Of the victims, two died in Sreepur upazila of Gazipur while another in Sadar upazila.
Raiz Uddin, a sub-inspector of Mawna Highway Police Station (proposed), said an accident occurred around 3:45am when a Dhaka-bound pick-up van carrying a family of five members crashed into a roadside tree at Beraiderchala in Sreepur after its driver lost control over the steering.
Khushi Akter, 8, and her six-month-old sister Halima died on the spot, reports a correspondent from Gazipur.
Khushi's father Abul Kalam, mother Anika Akter and her brother Khorshed Alam, who were injured during the accident, have been undergoing treatment at Gazipur Sadar Hospital.
All the family members hailed from Bhuiyan Char of Sherpur district were travelling to Dhaka.
Police seized the pick-up van while its driver managed to flee the scene.
Meanwhile, a covered van collided with an oncoming three-wheeler at East Chandana in Sadar upazila around 2:45am, leaving Al Amin, 22, dead on the spot, said Ashraful Islam, a sub-inspector of Joydevpur Police Station.
Al Amin, of Baliapara in Sreepur upazila, was traveling in the three-wheeler, the SI added.
Four fellow-passengers of Al Amin were also injured in the accident and were admitted to the hospital.
