Deputy Attorney General (DAG) Motahar Hossain told the court of Justice Sheikh Hassan Arif about the government decision when the bench was hearing a plea by lawyer and parent of an admission seeker, Yunus Ali Akhand.
A High Court bench on Aug 27 gave a split verdict on the plea challenging the government's move to enrol the applicants into MBBS and BDS courses based on only the GPAs they secured in the SSC and HSC examinations and scrap entrance test altogether.
"The government has decided to host admission test year. But admissions from the next year onwards will be based on GPAs," the DAG told the third bench after the hearing started.
