Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday lashed out at the Buet faculty members for what she said teaching students a deplorable way of protests by pouring their own blood on the campus.
"We want to come up with a peaceful solution to the ongoing crisis in different educational institutions. But, we also know how to be tough," she said.
"How could the teachers guarantee that students will not move against them in the same way?" the premier posed a question to the demonstrating teachers.
Talking on the caretaker government issue, Hasina, also the president of Awami League, said, "The ghost of 1-11 episode is still looming over the country."
She made the observations at a joint meeting of the ruling AL and its associate bodies at her official residence Gono Bhaban.
The presidents and general secretaries of the associate bodies attended the meeting organised to discuss the country’s latest socio-economic, political and organisational matters.
