PM playing with people: BNP

Dhaka, Sep 16 The BNP on Sunday alleged that the Prime Minister was 'playing' with the people by putting a 'controversial' person in charge of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
"Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir has been known as a controversial person for his role in destroying public administration. The Supreme Court had once cancelled his membership of Parliament. He is also controversial as an MP," Standing Committee Member Khandker Mosharraf Hossain claimed at a discussion.
"We believe the Prime Minister is playing with the people by assigning such a controversial person to an important ministry," he said.
With barely a year in hand, the Awami League-led government has made a major shake-up to the Cabinet, bringing in five new ministers and two state ministers and changing portfolios.
Alamgir, a former bureaucrat and one of the ruling party's policymakers, has replaced Shahara Khatun as the Home Minister. Shahara will helm the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications.
"The Prime Minister has reshuffled the Cabinet only to deceive the people," Mosharraf alleged.
The BNP leader further claimed the incumbent government did not care about the people.
