21 Shibir men sued over RU violence

A Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leader sued 21 Islami Chhatra Shibir (ICS) leaders and activists on Wednesday in connection with Tuesday’s clash at Rajshahi University.
Organising Secretary Towhid Al Tuhin of BCL RU unit lodged the case with Motihar Police Station against 21 Shibir activists by name and around 121 unknown persons, reports our Rajshahi correspondent, quoting Anisur Rahman, officer-in-charge of the police station.
RU Shibir unit president Ashraful Alam Emon and general secretary Saifudin Yahya have been made accused in the case.
Mentionable that a photo published with Tuesday’s story on The Daily Star shows plaintiff Tuhin is holding an iron rod and also aiming a pistol.
At least 25 students were injured, three of them bullet-hit, in a fierce clash between Shibir and BCL activists on Tuesday.
Ashraful however claimed that six Shibir men, including its general secretary Saifuddin Yahya, were injured by bullets fired by BCL men.
The feuding groups traded nearly 50 gunshots inside the campus.
