2 Sagar-Runi murder accused on 8-day remand

 
 
Rab members bring two persons accused in Sagar-Runi murder case, Tanvir Rahman and Palash Rudra Pual, out of a court in the capital on Wednesday.
A Dhaka court on Wednesday placed two accused in journalist couple Sagar-Runi murder case on an eight-day remand each.
The accused are Tanvir Rahman and Palash Rudra Pual, a security guard of the couple's residence.
Metropolitan Magistrate Keshab Roy Chowdhury passed the order after Md Zafar Ullah, senior assistant superintendent of police of Rapid Action Battalion also the investigation of the case, produced them before it with a 10-day demand prayer.
Meanwhile, five more accused -- Mintu alias Bargira Mintu, Kamrul Hassan Arun, Md Bakul Miah, Rafiqul Islam and Abu Sayeed -- have been shown arrested in the case.

Sagar, news editor at the private TV station Maasranga, and his wife Runi, senior reporter at another TV channel ATN Bangla, were killed in the wee hours of February 11 at their rented apartment in the capital's West Rajabazar.
On Tuesday, Home Minister Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir named the seven suspects in the brutal murder of journalist couple Sagar and Runi.
He termed Tanvir, an official of an English medium school in the city, as one of the family friends of Sagar and Runi
The minister announced a Tk 10 lakh bounty on absconding Humayun Kabir, another guards of Sagar-Runi residence, abut did not disclose the motive behind the double murder for the sake of the investigation.
