Man threatens to blow up Ctg judge

A man has threatened to blow up the judge who is dealing with the 10-truck arms haul case if former state minister for home Lutfozzaman Babar is sentenced in connection with the case.SM Mujibur Rahman, Metropolitan Sessions Judge of the Special Tribunal-1 of Chittagong, received the death threat along with a shroud on Tuesday, reports our Chittagong correspondent.
Judge Mujibur Rahman received a packet around 10:00am Tuesday and to his utter surprise he found a shroud inside the packet inscribed on it: "We will blow up you by remote controlled bomb if you sentence Lutfozzaman Babar in 10-truck arms haul case in a biased manner."
The packet contains sender's address as Md Shaheed Miah of Sony Super market, Mirpur-2, Dhaka.
Public Prosecutor of the court Advocate Kamal Uddin said the letter was written with red ink on a shroud.
The letter also mentioned that the judges misbehaved with Babar and kept him standing during the court proceedings.
The letter reads: "It is your death notice with a piece of shroud. Your dream of becoming the High Court judge by sentencing Babar in the case would not be fulfilled."
Kamal Uddin said they are concerned and surprised by the letter.
The unanimous perpetrators were trying to obstruct the trial proceedings by any means, he alleged.
