Tuesday, August 7, 2012 BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is scheduled to leave Dhaka for Saudi Arabia on Wednesday to perform Umrah.She will stay there during the last ten days of the month of Ramadan to perform Umrah and special prayers (Itikaf), her Press Secretary Maruf Kamal Khan Sohel told The Daily Star on Tuesday.
The flight carrying Khaleda will leave the capital for Mecca at 7:30pm, he said.
Khaleda will stay in Mecca as royal guest and perform Itikaf at the Al-Masjid al-Nabawi just like every year, he said, adding that she would return after Shab-e-Qadr.
Khaleda's younger brother Shamim Eskander's wife and their sons will accompany the former premier during her tour.
