A Saudi daily ‘Al Watan’ confirmed the matter.
Sources said business leaders requested the Saudi King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz to extend the time for four more months as during the months of Ramadan and holy Hajj administrative people used to work in a languishing manner.
Prior to this, ministers from different countries, embassies and various labour related organizations requested the Saudi King Abdullah to extend the period of special opportunity for the labourers to be legalized in Saudi Arabia.
A special opportunity declared by Saudi King Abdullah will end on July 3 for the expatriate labourers to renew their work permit.
According to the order, those who are yet to legalize, have to be legalized by July 3, otherwise punitive actions will be taken against them.
