Wednesday, September 5, 2012The government has extended tenure of the chairman of five state-owned banks for two years.The banks are Rupali Bank, Agrani Bank, Janata Bank, Basic Bank and Ansar-VDP Development Bank, said a gazette notification issued by banking and financial institutions division of the finance ministry on Wednesday.
The notification, however, said the chairman of Sonali Bank will remain in office until further notice.
The tenure of Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad, chairman of Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF), was also extended for two years, the notification said.
