2 DMDs of Sonali Bank made OSD
Tuesday, September 4, 2012 Two
deputy managing directors (DMDs) of Sonali Bank have been made
officers on special duty (OSD) following the Hallmark loan scam.
The DMDs are Atiqur Rahman and Mainul Haque.
The finance ministry on Tuesday issued an order in this regard.
A departmental case will be filed against the duo after issuing show causes on them, said Banking Secretary Shafiqur Rahman Patwari.
The central bank recently asked Sonali Bank to suspend 31 of its officials, including the two DMDs, over the Tk 3,547-crore loan scam.
On Thursday, the Sonali Bank suspended 17 of its officials over the fraud.
The Bangladesh Bank in its audit found that the loan was given to Hall-Mark and a number of companies through fraudulent means.
