MKA for punitive action against Khaleda

MYMENSINGH: Home Minister MK Alamgir on Saturday categorically said punitive action would be taken against leader of the opposition Khaleda Zia for calling non-cooperative movement and urging residents of Dhaka to stand beside Hefajat-e-Islam during Motijheel rally on May 5.

The ruling Awami League lawmaker came up with the assertion while talking to journalist after inaugurating new building of Fulpur Thana in the noon.

He said, “Action will be taken against the teachers, students and managing committees of the madrasas, which have been used for hartal violence in stead of education.”

Forewarning the opposition party, he said, “The government won’t tolerate anymore hartal which affects people.”

Criticizing the then four-party alliance government, he said, “The dad done nothing but corruption during 2001-2007 and they had only made money for their own.”

The incumbent government is working for the welfare of the common people of the country, he added.
