Hartal supporters exploded seven cocktails in capital’s Kalyanpur, Chittagong and Bogra district town in the morning.
Witnesses said hartal supporters brought out a brisk procession supporting hartal in Kolyanpur and they exploded the cocktails when police chased them. Police detained one of them from the spot.
Police also held four picketers from Jatrabari area.
In Chittagong, pickets exploded three cocktails in front of Ansar Club in the port city and police detained three Jamaat-Shibir activists from the spot.
In Khulna, police detained five picketers from Goalkhali area of the metropolitan city.
In Bogra, pickets exploded a powerful cocktail in front of Sadar Thana in the morning. No one was hurt reportedly.
Jamaat-Shibir activists vandalized 10 vehicles and torched a bus in capital’s Pallabi area and Sirajganj on Wednesday morning during hartal hour.
No one was reportedly hurt or arrested in the incident.
In Sirajganj, hartal supporters vandalized four trucks and a covered van in Solonga in the morning.
Additional law enforcers had been deployed in different risky points to avert violence.
On Tuesday, Jamaat sources said next course action would be fixed after pronouncing the verdict and they are mulling about non-stop 36-hour hartal.
Earlier on the day, International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-2 fixed Wednesday to pronounce the verdict in the case filed against Jamaat Secretary General Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujaheed in connection with the crimes against humanity during the war of liberation in 1971.
