The approval came from a regular meeting of the cabinet held at Secretariat in the city with the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.
After the meeting, Cabinet Secretary M Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan made the disclosure before journalists.
He also said the deadline for filing the appeal to claim ownership of vested property has been extended to December 31 from June 30.
The vested properties in the country were divided into two categories-- `ka` and `kha`.
The Secretary said, “‘ka’ category is those which are either in the government’s possession or leased and “kha” category neither are those in the government possession nor leased.
According to the existing law, applicants of ‘ka’ should move to tribunal and ‘kha’ to the district committee.
