The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 led by ATM Fazle Kabir issued the verdict on Monday.
As per the verdict, all five war crime charges against Ghulam Azam have been proved; but he was not awarded death sentence considering old age.
Earlier in the day, ICT-1 read out the 75-page summary of 243-page verdict in the case against Ghulam Azam. He was taken to ICT-1 at 10:05am.
Ghulam Azam, who was arrested on January 11, 2012, was indicted on five charges, which include involvement in murder and torture of unarmed people, conspiracy, planning, incitement and complicity in genocide, and crimes against humanity during Liberation War.
