Terming the verdict “inappropriate”, they expressed their discontent over the verdict in a reaction soon after the verdict passed.
Mujaheed’s counsel Barrister Abdur Razzak came up with the assertion at his residence at capital’s Dhanmondi in the afternoon.
Abdur Razzak said, “The verdict was wrong as the tribunal failed to understand and give clear definition about international law, and we will appeal to the Supreme Court against the verdict.”
Earlier in the day, International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-2 awarded death penalty to Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujaheed for his involvement in crimes against humanity during liberation war in 1971.
