Rangpur city polls by December 25: CEC

Election to the newly formed Rangpur City Corporation will be held by December 25 this year, Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad announced on Tuesday.
"Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) will be used in some polling centres," the CEC said.
He was addressing a workshop at Begum Rokeya Auditorium of Rangpur Dinajpur Rural Services (RDRS) in the city, reports our Rangpur correspondent.
Seeking cooperation from local administration and people in to holding a free, fair and neutral election, Kazi Rakibuddin said it is not possible for the Election Commission alone.
Strengthening Election Commission Management in Bangladesh organised the workshop, which was also attended by Deputy Commissioner of Rangpur (In-charge) Zakir Hossain and Joint Secretary to the EC Secretariat Jesmin Tuli.
