Monday, July 30, 2012 BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia on Monday said only a non-party caretaker government can protect the democratic process of the country.
“BNP will not go to election if it is not held under a non-party caretaker government,” the opposition leader said while speaking at an Iftar party hosted by Doctors Association of Bangladesh (Dab) in the city.
Khaleda came up with the comments a day after Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in an interview with BBC Bangla said BNP can join the interim cabinet which would be formed ahead of the next general elections.
