Dhaka, July 12 beleaguered Vice-Chancellor of the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology is in a meeting with the Prime Minister, a day after days of unrest led to the closure of the premier engineering university.
A government source confirmed bdnews24.com that several Syndicate members were accompanying the VC Prof SM Nazrul Islam who along with Pro-Vice-Chancellor M Habibur Rahman is facing calls to resign.
The protesting teachers and students earlier rejected the syndicate's offer of a judicial probe against the Vice-Chancellor and Pro-Vice-Chancellor.
On Thursday, the second day of continuous protests against the VC and pro-VC, teachers, students and employees of the institution assembled in front of the BUET administrative building.
