Brief people on govt 'tyranny': Fakhrul

Dhaka, Jul 12 The BNP's spokesperson on Thursday asked the party leaders in districts to inform the people at the grassroots level about the government's rule of 'tyranny'.
The country's garments, knitwear, poultry sectors are being destroyed one by one. Most of the poultry farms are shut off and eggs are being imported from India," Acting Secretary-General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said.

"This way the government is trying to make the country dependent on others. The people must be informed about these situations," he said while speaking at the inauguration programme of the party's political workshop.
Fakhrul said, "BNP doesn't want disorder. We want solution to the people's problems in a peaceful way. But the government apparently doesn't understand it."
"They have annulled the neutral election system, made Parliament inactive. They have created a confrontational situation in the country by making the judiciary and administration partisan."
The senior BNP leader also alleged the ruling Awami League had in effect established a one-party-rule. "They are controlling every institution including the administration. The government has infringed on the people's fundamental and voting rights through the 15th Amendment to the Constitution."
About the workshop, Fakhrul said, "There is no other way to getting training to join politics in this time of globalisation. It is mandatory to have ideas and knowledge of governance and contemporary issues."
Seventy-seven leaders of the main opposition's 28 district committees, including President, General Secretary and Organising Secretary, will be participating at the workshop organised at BNP's Political Training Centre at Naya Paltan's Hotel Victory in the capital.
BNP Standing Committee members Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Nazrul Islam Khan, Vice-President Selima Rahman, Chairperson Khaleda Zia's Advisor Shamsuzzaman Dudu and Joint Secretary-General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi will train the participants who will have to sit an evaluation test.
