RAB arrest Gulshan housewife 'killer'


Dhaka, Apr 18 Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Wednesday arrested the driver of a housewife for his suspected involvement in her murder in the city's Gulshan area.

The driver, identified as 'Mintu', was detained from Kamrangirchar with looted cash and gold ornaments around 2pm, RAB's Legal and Media Wing director M Sohail told bdnews24.com.

Fahima Sultana, 40, wife of businessman M A Mobin Khan, was killed allegedly by the driver at their residence on Tuesday morning.

The driver took away cash and gold ornaments after killing Fahima and injuring their maid 'Dina' 25.

Police, quoting security guards of the apartment, said driver Mintu went to the flat at about 10am and left the apartment with the car at about 10:30am.

When Mobin Khan, the husband and chief executive officer of Ethics Advance Technology Ltd, returned to his flat, he found his wife's body lying on the floor with multiple stab injuries and maid Dina critically injured.

Mobin filed a case with the Gulshan Police Station over the murder Tuesday night. He said in the case that the driver looted some 150 bhories of gold ornaments and Tk 200,000 in cash. One bhori equals 11.664 grams.

RAB's commander Sohail said they were trying to recover the remaining gold ornaments.
