A flying officer died and a pilot received injuries when a training aircraft of Bangladesh Air Force crashed in a marsh in Madhupur upazila of Tangail on Sunday.
Flying officer Reza Sharif succumbed to his injuries after his admission at Combined Military Hospital in Ghatail.
Injured pilot squadron leader Mamunur Rashid is now undergoing treatment at the same hospital, MA Masud, additional police super of Tangail, told The Daily Star.
"Mamun is out of danger as he sustained some cuts and bruises only," Masud said.
The L-39 aircraft went down into the marsh in Mohishmara Ghunapara area of the upazila around 12:30pm, he added.
Technical fault might be the reason behind the accident, the police officials said quoting BAF officials.
