"A long-standing demand of the people of Noakhali has been fulfilled by rescheduling the train. A new dimension has also been added to the improvement of Bangladesh's railway," Quader, also the communications minister and an MP from Noakhali, said at the inauguration.

"The railways will have to be protected from the evil influence of irregularities and corruption. Our immediate target is to stop irregularities and ensure safe journey by train," he said.

After the programme, the minister left the station for Dhaka aboard the train with local MP Ekramul Karim Chowdhury, Railway Division Secretary Fazle Kabir and Director General Abu Taher.
