Ilias` wife reaches Ganabhaban

Dhaka, May 2 Tahsina Rushdir, wife of missing BNP leader M Ilias Ali, has reached Ganabhaban, the official residence of prime minister Sheikh Hasina, to meet her as 15 days have passed since her husband disappeared.

She reached the Ganabhaban after 5pm on Wednesday, PM's assistant personal secretary Saifuzzaman Shikhar told bdnews24.com.

Her two sons–Akbar Ilias (18) and Labib Shara (16), and eight-year-old daughter Syena Nawal are accompanying her during the visit.

Tahsina at a press conference on Apr 30 expressed her desire to meet the prime minister saying she and her children were facing 'uncertainty and insecurity'. On the same day the prime minister gave her appointment for 6pm on Wednesday.

Ilias, one of the organising secretaries of BNP and a former MP from Sylhet, and his driver went missing in the early hours of Apr 18. His car was found abandoned in the capital's Mohakhali area.

BNP has been alleging that the 'government agencies picked him up'. The government, however, refuted the allegation, saying that it was a 'drama staged by the BNP'.

Rapid Action Battalion and the police raided several place at Pubail in Gazipur and in Dhaka, but could not find Ilias.
