জেরিন আহমেদ: ছেলেকে হারিয়ে বাকরুদ্ধ আবরারের মা। কাঁদতে কাঁদতে বললেন, আমার ছেলে সব রেজাল্টে মেধা তালিকায় ছিলো। সব পরীক্ষায় একশতে একশো পেতো। আমি বলি বাবা তুমি মেডিকেলে পরীক্ষা দাও কিন্তু ছেলে বলে, মা যদি মেডিকেলে চান্স না পাই? তখন আমি ছেলেকে বলি, বাবা তুমি পরীক্ষা দাও, ভাগ্যের ব্যাপার বলা তো যায় না। আমার ছেলে পরীক্ষা দেয়। চান্সও পায় মেডিকেলে। আমার ছেলে ঢাকা ভার্সিটির জেনেটিক্স ভর্তি পরীক্ষায় ১৩ তম হয়। তার খুব ইচ্ছা ছিলো জেনেটিক্সএ পড়ার।

মাসুদ আলম : বুয়েট শিক্ষার্থী আবরার ফাহাদ হত্যার ঘটনায় হলের সিসি ক্যামেরার ১৫ মিনিটের একটি ভিডিও প্রকাশ করেছেন আন্দোলকারী শিক্ষার্থীরা। এতে আবরারকে ডেকে নেয়া থেকে শুরু করে রয়েছে, তার মরদেহ সিঁড়িতে ফেলে রাখার ছবি। হত্যায় জড়িতদের সবার ছবিও যেখানে পরিষ্কারভাবে দেখা যাচ্ছে। এর গত সোমবার ১ মিনিটের একটি ভিডিও ফুটেজ ভাইরাল হয়।

বাংলাদেশ প্রকৌশলী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের (বুয়েট) শিক্ষার্থী আবরার ফাহাদের পরিবারের সদস্যদের ওপর পুলিশ হামলা চালিয়েছে পুলিশ। গতকালের ওই হামলার বেশ কয়েকটি ছবি ইতিমধ্যে সামাজিক মাধ্যমে ছড়িয়ে পড়েছে। ছবিগুলোতে দেখা যায় আবরার ভাবীকে টেনে হেঁছড়ে নিয়ে যাচ্ছে পুলিশ, ছবিতে মারপিটের দৃশ্যও দেখা যায়। তবে বিষয়টি পুলিশ অস্বীকার করেছে।

মহসীন কবির : বুয়েট শিক্ষার্থী আবরার ফাহাদকে নির্যাতনের পরিকল্পনা হয় আগেই। ঘটনার একদিন আগেই এ নিয়ে বুয়েট ছাত্রলীগের সিক্রেট মেসেঞ্জার গ্রুপে খুনিদের কথোপকথন হয়। যেখানে আবরারকে পিটিয়ে হলছাড়া করার নির্দেশ দেয়া হয়। সেইসাথে ঘটনার একজন প্রত্যক্ষদর্শীর

A Pabna court sentenced nine activists of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party to death and jailed 25 others for life on Wednesday for attacking a train carrying the then opposition leader Sheikh Hasina in 1994. The court also sentenced 13 others to 10-year imprisonment.

The police have submitted a charge sheet against a student of Khilgaon Model School and College in the capital in a case filed in connection with the killing of a cat. Investigation officer of the case Mugda police station Sub-inspector (SI) Nayan Debnath submitted the charge sheet to the court in recent times. The court set July 9 for accepting the charge sheet.

At least 35 people were killed and over a dozen others injured as an overcrowded bus fell into a deep gorge in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district today, police officials said.  Kishtwar district Senior Superintendent of Police Shakti Pathak said 35 people died and 17 others were injured in the accident that took place around 7:30am (Indian time).

The condition of Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad, who is now undergoing treatment at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka, remained unchanged, his brother GM Quader said today.  “His lungs Infections have eased but the kidney is in serious condition. A Pabna court today sent 30 BNP leaders and activists to jail after rejecting their bail prayers in a case filed for attacking Sheikh Hasina, the then opposition leader and now prime minister, in 1994. The case was filed accusing 52 BNP men after Sheikh Hasina came under the attack as soon as the train carrying her reached Ishwardi Railway Station during a countrywide campaign by rail on September 23, 1994.

At least four people sustained burn injuries in a gas cylinder blast at Dhaka's Green Road this morning. The blast took place on the ground floor of  Comfort Hospital building around 10:00am, police said.

Parliament on Sunday passed the Tk 5,23,190 crore national budget for the fiscal year 2019-20, themed as ‘Bangladesh on a Pathway to Prosperity: Time is Ours, Time for Bangladesh’. Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal moved the Appropriations Bill, 2019 seeking a budgetary allocation of Tk 6,42,478.27 crore which was passed by voice vote.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of police Mizanur Rahman has sought bail from the High Court on Sunday in a case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), reports UNB. ACC lawyer Khurshid Alam Khan said the bench of Justice Obaidul Hassan and Justice SM Kuddus Zaman may hear the petition on Monday.

UNB, Dhaka : Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan today said action will be taken if negligence of any member of the police force is found in the Rifat murder case. "Those involved in the incident won't be spared and a bit more time will be needed to arrest the attackers," he said while talking to reporters at the Secretariat. The minister further said, "Killing a young man in broad day light is not acceptable to us. It is a heinous crime."

The energy regulator has decided to increase gas price by 32.8 per cent for all users from July 1.  The price of the single burner will rise to Tk 925 per month from Tk 750 while the price of the double burner will rise to Tk 975 from Tk 800, Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission Chairman Monowar Islam said today.

Former OC of Sonagazi Police Station Moazzem Hossain was not allowed to meet his lawyers today. Moazzem, the accused of a case file for filming a statement of madrasa student Nusrat Jahan Rafi and circulating the clip on social media,  appealed to Dhaka Cyber Tribunal to meet his counsels, but Ash Sams Joglul Hossain, the judge of the court, dismissed the petition.
