Video of group of people mercilessly beating youth in Chattogram goes viral (Watch)

A video clip of a group of people beating a young man in Chattogram has gone viral on Facebook.
The incident took place at ‘N’ block of Biswakaloni area under Akbar Shah Police Station of the port city on Sunday.


The victim is identified as Md Mohsin, 26, an activist of local Jubo League. Mohshin sustained severe injury in the attack but was alive till date.
In the footage, a group of 12-15 people are seen beating up Mohsin with iron and bamboo sticks. Mohsin was seen trying to escape but could not save himself from the attackers. At one stage Mohsin fell, and the attackers left the spot leaving him seriously injured.

Bishwajit killer Shakil remanded

  Rafiqul Islam Shakil is seen with a machete by which he hacked Bishwajit Das in Old Dhaka during December 9 countrywide road blockade. A Dhaka court on Sunday placed Rafiqul Islam Shakil, the key accused of Bishwajit Das killing case, on an eight-day remand. Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Erfan Ullah passed the order after Tajul Islam, an inspector of Detective Branch (DB) of Police, produced Shakil before it seeking a 10-day remand. In the forwarding report, Tajul Islam, also the investigation officer (IO) of the case, said Shakil is the prime accused in the case. They identified Shakil from photos and video footages of the murder scene where Shakil hacked Bishwajit with a machete on December 9 in Sutrapur of Old Dhaka. So, the accused need to be remanded to find out vital clues about the killing and the whereabouts of their other accomplices responsible for committing such offence, the IO said. 78.67pc pass HSC exam

Dhaka, Jul 18 This year 78.67 percent has passed the Higher Secondary Certificate and equivalent examinations and 61,162 got GPA-5. The Education Minister Nurul Islam has submitted a copy of the results to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her official residence Ganabhaban Wednesday morning. Chairmen of different education boards were present there. Last year, 75.08 percent passed the HSC and equivalent examinations and 39,759 got GPA-5. This year Sylhet board has the highest passing rate of 85.37 percent. Dhaka board follows with 81.89 percent, Comilla with 74.56, Rajshahi 78.44 percent, Dinajpur 75.41 percent, Chittagong 72.29 percent, Jessore 67.87 percent and Barisal with 66.98 percent. The pass rate under the Madrasah board is 91.77 percent while the vocational board has 84.32 percent successful students.
