The BNP-led 18-party opposition alliance got permission for holding a rally in the capital for the first time in the last two months.
The alliance held its last public meeting on November 25 in the capital.
Khaleda Zia, head of the combine, is due to address the rally at Suhrawardy Udyan Monday afternoon.
The public meeting will be organised to thank the people of the country for boycotting the January 5 parliamentary election.
Khaleda, also chairperson of BNP, announced the programme on January 15 from a post-election press conference.
Zainul Abdin Farroque, publicity secretary of BNP, told The Daily Star that the Dhaka Metropolitan Police had given them permission to carry on with the programme.
