The skirmish that left 30 others injured took place at Shahar Police Outpost on Wednesday afternoon, police said.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Shamsul Alam Sarkar confirmed the casualties.
Feni
BNP's acting chief Abu Taher claimed the deceased, Harunur Rashid, was a
member of the Jatiyatabadi Juba Dal’s Farhadnagar union in Sadar
Upazila.
Wednesday was the fifth day of the Opposition's six-day blockade of roads, railways, and waterways across Bangladesh.
BNP
activists hurled stones at the outpost from a procession heading
towards the town around 4:30pm, said Feni Model Police Station Inspector
Abul Kalam Azad.
Police fired tear gas and rubber bullets at protesters to repel the attack.
The blockade supporters had also opened fire during the pitched battle, police claimed.
At least seven people including three policemen had sustained bullet injuries, said Inspector Azad.
Additional police, BGB troopers and RAB personnel brought the situation under control around 6pm.
The BNP-led Opposition had called the blockade, demanding a suspension of the election schedule.
In the second spell, the main opposition party called for another three-day blockade and later extended it by three more days.
Around 50 people have died in blockade-related violence since the first spell on Nov 26.
