Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, "Whenever we have made movement and struggle like Nazrul has given us motivation and strength, similarly Bangladesh has liberated Bangladesh Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. So on one hand, like poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, on the other side, we see the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Sheikh Hasina said this after taking the Honorary Doctor of Literature (DeLit) degree from Kabi Nazrul University in Asansol, West Bengal, India on Saturday.
Sheikh Hasina said, "Today, I respect my respect for the 119th birth anniversary of Kazi Nazrul Islam, and honor the Father of the nation who gave us freedom. In the same way, remember our great freedom war, the people of India in the freedom struggle. '
The Prime Minister said, "Bhartia was beside us, cooperated. Refugees gave them shelter on one quarter. Trained our freedom fighters, even helped in building a war-torn country.
Sheikh Hasina said, "From Nazrul and Mujib to the spirit, they came in two names but came along as well. So after independence, Father of the Nation, Kabir Nazrul was taken to Bangladesh. He did not take just in Bangladesh, he gave Nazrul as a national poet.
The Prime Minister said, "During the great liberation war, the Bangla slogan was adopted by Father of the Nation, the poem and composition of Kazi Nazrul Islam, 'Bengali Bangalee.Win Bengal! To win the Bengalis. 'When we are campaigning for liberation struggle, when he gave six weeks, then he instructed the student - how this slogan can be presented to the people. Joy Bangla in our liberation war was a great slogan which inspires people.
