At present, a school run by the Dhaka City Corporation is on the land of the ‘Shahid Bazlur Rahman Hall’ located in old Dhaka’s Bangshal. The land was occupied following a clash with locals in 1985.

Traffic from Raisaheb Bazar to Sadarghat and Jatrabarhi came to a halt for around four hours.
Meanwhile, teachers continued to stay away from work to press for their eight-point charter of demands.
They also held a protest rally and formed a human chain.
The students have been agitating since Feb 12, demanding return of their illegally occupied hostels and removal of a bank branch.
On Tuesday, they occupied a piece of land belonging to Bangladesh Samabaya Bank Limited and declared to set up their ‘temporary Teacher Student Centre’ on it.
